Crypto Markets Seeing Another Slump

ethereum

It’s par for the course, but Saturday, August 18 saw crypto markets in another slump, with some coins wavering following weekly gains. The total market cap decreased to about $210 billion. Bitcoin was down 1.79 percent over the last day, while Ethereum was trading at $291, suffering a 3.7 percent loss over the last 24 hours.

Ripple, which is the third biggest altcoin by market cap, also took a hit by six percent on the day, trading at $0.31.

Billionnaire Boys Club

Can’t wait to see this one. It’s about a group of wealthy boys in Los Angeles during the early 1980s who come up with a ‘get-rich-quick’ scam that turns deadly. Starring Ansel Elgort, Emma Roberts and Kevin Spacey (who is attempting to emerge from his hideout after the accusations of the past year). The movie did poorly its opening weekend but despite the presence of the disgraced movie star, it still looks like a solid premise for a movie.

I’ll have to wait till it comes out on BlueRay though, as it was only released in limited theaters and it looks like its time there will be short lived. What movies are you itching to see?

Highest-Paying Jobs in the U.S. Right Now

index

When I first got my degree, the world was my oyster. I had every opportunity laid out before me…I just had to grab them. With 4 1/2 million students graduating from college this year alone, one has to wonder what opportunities will be afforded them, even with a degree.

It looks like the technology sector is grabbing the most top spots, with more than half of the 25 highest-paying jobs being in that sector, with the lowest average base salary well over $100,000.

In a related report, 7 in 10 workers and job seekers said salary is a key factor in determining a career. Check out this interesting report from Bloomberg…

Fun Facts About MLB

mlb

Did you know?

The phrase “walk-off home run” didn’t apply before the 1920 season.

In 1998, Mark McGwire hit 70 home runs, breaking the all-time single-season home run record set by Roger Maris in 1961. Those home runs traveled a total of 29,958 feet, more than enough to reach above the peaks of Mt. Everest.

Before every MLB game, umpires prepare six dozen baseballs by rubbing them in mud — a special mud produced by an unknown source in New Jersey. This takes the slick shine off new baseballs.

William “Dummy” Hoy was the first deaf player ever to play Major League Baseball.
